It was real fun working with a creative, caring and intelligent team. The film is an inspiration - totally surpassed our expectations. I really don’t know how they managed to do it on the budget.

The film is a good news story about AIDS and HIV in Angola: a successful programme of safer sex education in the Angolan Army

 

 

Georgia on my mind

While the Russian bullets were flying, media co-op’s Aimara Reques was in the Republic of Georgia, filming with a Georgian/Scottish initiative to build an Eco-Village for traumatised children.  “The war wasn’t part of our plan,” says Aimara, “but it was so moving to be able to see and film the work the Georgians are going – with Scottish collaboration – to build a new sort of business that benefits children in need.

 

 

Dogs on the box

The opening of Forfar’s new state-of-the-art guide dog training centre hit the TV news screens – thanks to mediaco-op. Guide Dogs for the Blind commissioned us to film a Video News Release of the opening ceremony. We delivered it to the TV newsdesks and they broadcast the story. As a bonus, mediaco-op created a video loop about the process of training guide dogs, to show at their Visitors’ Centre.

 

 

Teachers Learn

Teachers right across Scotland are getting a new insight into the power of co-operation. Cooperative Education Trust Scotland commissioned mediaco-op to make an inspirational DVD promoting Young Co-ops in schools.

Pupils from the award-wining Hillpark Young Co-op explain what they get out of being involved; and teachers show how it fits into the Curriculum for Excellence. Music courtesy of teenage rockers from the school’s Young Co-op.

 

 

Learning disability is no barrier

Andy Greensmith, who has learning difficulties, has been trained by mediaco-op’s Iñigo Garrido to shoot and edit his own DVDs. Stephen Morrison of the charity C-Change said "mediaco-op was second to none. Iñigo's patient one-to-one coaching was tailored exactly to Andy's needs."
